The SGF Healthy Living Programme were delighted to visit Kinross Primary on Tuesday 24th January 2023, thanks to the support from Green’s of Kinross, Graham’s Dairies and Fisher & Donaldson for providing the breakfast products.
The event was a huge success as more than 200 primary 1 to 3 children sampled a healthy and nutritious breakfast. We witnessed the excitement on the kids' faces when some of them tried pineapple, Weetabix and pear for the very first time. The highlight of the event was the empty plates, huge smiles and full tummies. Mrs Jeffrey was equally pleased by the success of the event and shared that 'it was lovely to see all of the children trying new things'.
In true kid fashion, their feedback is sweet, concise and to the point which is the biggest motivator for us to keep the events going. Here is what they said:
We were delighted to receive feedback from Amy Rodgers, Depute Headteacher at Kinross Primary school. She commented:
"Working with Healthy Living Scotland and Greens has been a fantastic opportunity. Everything had been well thought out by both organisations in advance, which minimised the workload for our school. On the day, the staff who delivered the sessions were exceptional, which ensured we could target a high number of children, in a very short space of time. The feedback from both teachers and learners was extremely positive. All of them were reminded about the importance of having a healthy breakfast and through ‘The Big Breakfast Event’, they have been encouraged to continue to do so. I would highly recommend this initiative."
The event wouldn't have been possible without the support of our dedicated team and the collaboration with Scottish independent retailers. We want to say a huge thank you to Green’s of Kinross, Graham’s Dairies and Fisher & Donaldson for providing the sampled healthy foods and making more than 200 pupils happy.
